Matauri Pearl sells to Ballylinch for €400,000

The Stakes-placed Matauri Pearl, a full sister to this year's Gr.3 Prix Chloe victrix Wekeela and the only mare in the catalogue to carry a foal by Golden Horn's sire Cape Cross, proved in high demand and Ballylinch Stud's manager John O'Connor, standing in company with Ghislain Bozo of Meridian International, had to go to €400,000 to outbid Jacob West.

She is a gorgeous mare with a fantastic walk, commented O'Connor. Her sister Wekeela is very good and she is from the family of Monsun. The Cape Cross cover is another plus as he is such a good sire.
