Leading National Hunt sire Network, the sire of Sprinter Sacre and Rubi Ball among other luminaries of the jumping game, triggered a spirited bidding battle in a busy Deauville sales ring. Thierry Cyprès, Jean Biraben, Guy Petit, Samuel Blanchard and Bernard Stoffel all made attemps to secure the son of Monsun but it was David Powell who closed the deal with a €290,000 bid. Powell said future plans for the stallion would be disclosed at a later stage.
