Yannick Fouin's four-year-old DIEG MAN lost his maiden tag in timely fashion, scoring over the Auteuil hurdles June 14 on his sixth outing. €270K LORD GLITTERS to follow in Mondialiste's footsteps

The four-year-old Lord Glitters has done nothing wrong since his debut at the provincial track of Morlaix back in April 2016, winning four of his nine starts and finishing in the money on all other occasions. He ran second in the L. Grand Prix du Lion d'Angers at three and won both his starts so far in 2017, beating competitive fields at Chantilly and Saint-Cloud over a mile.

Bids fired from all around the sales ring until Willie Mullins, Nicolas de Watrigant and David O'Meara were left to battle it out and it was the latter who prevailed at €270,000, signing the docket on behalf of Middleham Park Racing's Jason Kelly and Geoff Turnbull's Elwick Stud. The Yorkshire-based trainer and the ebullient Turnbull will be hoping for a repeat scenario of MONDIALISTE, who topped this sale three years ago at €190,000 on a bid from David Powell's EURL du Chêne and went on to take the Gr.1 Arlington Million and Woodbine International.

He is a very consistent horse and if all goes well we will be aiming for an international campaign with him, said O'Meara.

Meridian secures Stakes producer SAILOR MOON for €280K

Ghislain Bozo of Meridian Bloodstock was left smiling after signing the docket alongside his brother Henri at €280,000 for the ten-year-old mare SAILOR MOON, one of the star acts of the catalogue as the dam of two Stakes winners. Her first foal was the L. Prix Solitude scorer STONE ROSES, who sold for the exact same price at last year's December Breeding Stock sale, and her third is the Siyouni colt STRAIGHT RIGHT, the cosy winner of the Prix de la Californie L. earlier this year and 3rd in the Prix Texanita last month. She also has a foal and yearling both by Dabirsim and was offered by Haras du Petit Tellier carrying to Olympic Glory.

Herself a winner at two, Sailor Moon is out of the Prix Yacowlef scorer SERALIA, of which the Gr.1 winner in Australia CONTRIBUTER and Stakes winners GLORY POWER, SOTTEVILLE etc. are all descended.

She is for Ecurie des Monceaux and some partners, explained Henri Bozo. I am very fond of this beautiful and very current family developped by Haras de la Louvière. We normally try to buy slightly younger mares but she has a rare profile as a Stakes producer with great upside - Straight Right could win a Group race this year and the Dabirsims might be good as well! She will go back to Siyouni next year.

Dam of multiple Graded winner FRODON commands €135K

MISS COUNTRY was a very rare proposition in a public sales ring as a winner over jumps, half-sister to a Grade 1 performer in SAINT PISTOL and whose first foal is the dual Grade 2-winning Novice chaser FRODON. Pierre Boulard, seating alongside Harold Kirk, was determined not to let her get away and went to €135,000 for the ten-year-old. Offered by Christelle Rébillon's Elevage de Guerre, she boasted a Kapgarde cover on top of her many assets.

She's been bought for a British client who has several horses in training. She is from a very current family with Frodon reaching his top level earlier this year and Saint Pistol also a Group winner at Auteuil this year. This appealed to us. Mares like this are very hard to come by.

What a horse! commented the agent. He has a lovely pedigree and is a magnificent individual. I've seen enough sons of Coastal Path and I thought this one wouldn't suit the French system, being so big and rangy, he almost looks like an Irish-bred. I am delighted to have him.
