Just a lot later, a son of Le Havre out of Group placed SAGE MELODY from Haras d’Ombreville made €120,000. It was the trio Alain Decrion, Jerome Reynier and Nicolas de Watrigant (Mandore International Agency) that had the final say for the half-brother to dual Listed placed MILLAU, from the family of Group winners MARIE DE KEN and ANA MARIE.
He’s a lovely colt - very athletic and his dam was a good racemare, said Jerome Reynier. He has lots of things going for him and his half-brother has got black-type. We hope that it continues in the same vein!
The third day of the sale started with a bang with a half-sister to yesterday’s Deauville Prix des Réservoirs (Gr.3) scorer ROSACEA going under the hammer. Standing beside Mathieu Alex (SUMBE), John Hammond had the final say for the daughter of Tamayuz from the close family of Group 1 winner REGGANE from Haras de la Perelle.

We just had to have her! She’s a very racy filly from a speedy family. She’ll also be ideal for breeding from. I’ve bought her for a Scandinavian client, AB Ascot (Finn Bichfeldt). She’ll join Christophe Ferland’s stable.
Bidding reached €150,000 for a brother to Prix Paul de Moussac Longines (Gr.3) winner NATIONAL SERVICE from Coulonces. It was Paul Harley that signed the docket for the colt by Elusive City. He commented,
I think he was one of the best colts in the catalogue. He has everything to be a racehorse - the physique and I like his attitude. We don’t know yet where he’ll go into training but he’ll probably stay in France. He brother was a winner at two - we hope he’ll be as good as his brother.

Carlos & Yann Lerner, trainers of the juvenile QUEEN TREZY that showed her talent just a few hours before the sale when finishing runner-up in the Prix des Réservoirs (Gr.3) on only her third start, went to €130,000 for a daughter of Almanzor from Haras d’Etreham from the family of Group winner KREEM.
She’s a lovely filly, well balanced, said Yann Lerner. I’ve bought her for an association between Mr de Chambure and Haras du Cadran. We’re very pleased with our purchase!
A few lots later, the gavel fell at €350,000 for a daughter of Wootton Bassett out of Group placed BROKEN APPLAUSE from J.K. Thoroughbreds. Bidding beside the British trainer Nigel Tinkler, Jamie Piggott had the final say for the half-sister to this season’s juvenile Listed runner-up ABOVE, that is also from the family of Champion German Two-Year-Old OWINGTON.
She’s a lovely filly from a great family, said the agent. Nigel never stopped telling me that she was a filly that could run at Ascot, and I hope he’s right! She’ll join his stable in England. I’ve bought her for one of his clients. She also has residual value. We’re very happy with our purchase.

A son of Camelot out of dual Group 3 winner and Group 1 runner-up BOARD MEETING consigned by Ecurie des Monceaux was subject to a long battle between Nicolas de Watrigant (Mandore International Agency) and Anthony Stroud, with the former coming out on top for €440,000. The colt, the top lot of the day, is a half-brother to Listed winner BIG BLUE, from the family of Classic winner BRIGHT SKY.
He’s a lovely colt by Camelot and his dam was placed in the Prix de l’Opera (Gr.1). I’ve bought him for M.V. Magnier, for whom I bought a son of Camelot in 2018 named MYTHICAL, that is now Group placed. He’s a stallion that we like a lot and we’ve had a lot of success with. We’re very pleased, said Nicolas de Watrigant.
Bidding rocketed around the ring for a son of Wootton Bassett from La Motteraye Consignment. Michel Zerolo (Oceanic Bloodstock), bidding once again for White Birch Farm, had the final say for the colt from the close family of Nassau Stakes (Gr.1) winner WINSILI. He was bred by Haras du Thenney.

Bidding on behalf of White Birch Farm, Michel Zerolo (Oceanic Bloodstock) had the final say at €350,000 for the filly, that hails from the leading Aga Khan maternal line of Classic winner SHEMAKA.

I really like everything about her, said Jean-Louis Bouchard. She’s a lovely big filly by Dubawi, a stallion that I like a lot. I’m looking for mares for my broodmare band at my stud that I bought a few years ago. I think she’ll make a good broodmare, as she’s also a half-sister to a Group 1 winner. She has everything going for her. We haven’t decided on a trainer yet.

I liked her from the start, said Paul Hensey. She walks very well and has a great South African page. She’s out of a dual Group winner and is a very good looking filly - we have lots to dream about with her! Like all the fillies, we’ll break her first before deciding on which trainer will suit her best.
Several buyers were in attendance around the ring for a son of Siyouni out of Listed winner MODERN EAGLE from Ecurie des Monceaux. The hammer finally fell at €420,000 in favour of Laurent Benoit (Broadhurst Agency) and M.V Magnier for the half-brother to multiple Listed placed MASTERPIECE from the excellent family of MOONLIGHT DANCE.

The former had the final say at €420,000 for the colt, the first foal out of LUCERNE, a half-brother to top class performer CHARM SPIRIT, the winner of the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes and Prix du Moulin de Longchamp (Gr.1s).
He’s an exceptional colt, and we really liked him, said the agent. We have yet to make any plans, but we’re very happy.
