A few lots later, a son of Medaglia d’Or offered by Malcom Bastard created a buzz around the ring. Acting on behalf of Godolphin, Anthony Stroud had the final say at £675,000 (€783,200) for the first foal out of black-type performer SHELBYSMILE, also a half-sister to Group winners DERBAAS and CHIEFDOM. 

 Anthony Stroud commented,

I really like the way Malcom Bastard prepares his horses - he really gets the best out of them. He’s a son of Medaglia d’Oro, passed all the vet checks and ticks all the boxes. He’ll go to Andre Fabre.
