Consigned by Haras d’Etreham, bidding for a daughter of Siyouni reached €625,000 when she was knocked down in favour of the agent Billy Jackson-Stops, bidding beside Carlos and Yann Lerner. The blue-blooded filly is a half-sister to Prix de Malleret (Gr.1) winner BABYLONE and hails from the excellent family of Group 1 winners DENEBOLA, SENGA, COU DE GENIE, EMOLLIENT, BAGO and MAXIOS.
She’s from a maternal line that we really like, said Kieran Lalor. She’s a filly with very good conformation and we’re delighted to get her. We’ve had a lot of success with horses bred by Écurie des Monceaux and we hope that this will continue with this filly. We’ll bring her home and give her a few months off before sending her into pre-training.
He was one of our picks of the day among the yearlings on offer, said Alex Elliott. We were underbidders on another son of Lope De Vega, so we are particularly pleased. He is a horse with great stamina, showing both potential and speed. His dam, by Almanzor, was an excellent racehorse, so he really has a remarkable pedigree.

She is truly priceless! said Alex Elliott. To build a dynasty, you need to acquire horses like this. She is a splendid filly, and her dam has produced remarkably well. Her sister won the TDN Rising Star last week; it's a very lively family. We are more than happy.
Dubawi was an extraordinary stallion for us, said Anthony Stroud. It's rare to see fillies of this quality go under the hammer, and we had to seize the opportunity. We’re very lucky to have been able to get her.
Some very nice horses are going through the ring today, and this colt is one of them, said Anthony Stroud. He’s a superb yearling that walks very well with good conformation. He’s by Frankel out of a dam by Siyouni, which is a top class cross. He was one of our favourites today and he’s a horse that we can dream of Derbys with.
Consigned by Tweenhills, a colt by Siyouni out of Cheveley Park Stakes (Gr.1) heroine LIGHTNING PEARL was sold for €1,25 million in favour of American Racing Corp. The well-bred colt is a half-brother to Group scorer LIGHTNING QUICK and the black-type performer MATENRO DIVA. He comes from the family of Group 1 winner SATONO CROWN.
He’s a very good looking colt. Wootton Bassett is a sire that has been very successful. We have his brother at Ballydoyle, and he appears to be a very nice horse. We all liked him very much and are delighted.
Firstly, she’s a magnificent filly, said Craig Bernick. She has an excellent attitude and walks very well. At the moment we have only one filly by Sea The Stars at stud at Glenn Hill, and he is probably one of the best broodmare sires in the world, so she will come back to the stud at the end of her racing career. She’s from a very well-known Aga Khan line in France and when there’s a nice individual in the family, it’s an opportunity not to be missed. We’re very happy to get her, and she’ll be trained in France by Francis-Henri Graffard.
She has a lot going for her, said the agent. She’s a daughter of Wootton Bassett, well bred, and from a good stud. She’ll run in Godolphin’s colours and will be trained by Charlie Appleby.
Among the last lots to go under the hammer was a daughter of Sea The Stars that was knocked down for €675,000 to Paddy Twomey. Consigned by Écurie des Monceaux, the filly is a daughter of non other than EVEREST ROSE a Listed winner and a sister to Group scorer ARABIAN CROWN. The blue-blooded filly hails from the family of Group 1 winner SEA LA ROSE and Group winners MOSAIQUE, THE JULIET ROSE and DEAUVILLE LEGEND.
After signing the docket, Paddy Twomey said:
I’ve bought her for a new partnership, for whom I looking for fillies with good pedigrees, and this one has a Classic one!
Consigned by Écurie des Monceaux, a son of Lope de Vega out of the black-type ELIADE was knocked down for €800,000. Bidding on behalf of Godolphin, Anthony Stroud signed the docket for the colt that hails from the leading family of Group 1 winners FRIENDLY SOUL, WITH YOU, WE ARE, KELINA and CALL THE WIND. He commented:
I’ve bought him for Godolphin and he will be trained by Charlie Appleby. He’s a lovely colt that walks very well. He comes from Écurie des Monceaux, that has bred so many good horses. We are truly delighted.

Later in the day, a daughter of the champion Baaeed, that has his first crop yearlings going under the hammer this year, was subject to interest from a number of buyers around the ring. The gavel finally fell at €800,000 for the filly in favour of Kieran Lalor on behalf of Al Shira’aa Racing. Consigned by Écurie des Monceaux, she is out of Listed winner DUBAI ROSE, that has produced Group winners THE JULIET ROSE and ARABIAN CROWN as well as the black-type performers EVEREST ROSE and POCKETFULLOFDREAMS. The well-bred filly hails from the family of Prix de Royallieu (Gr.1) winner SEA LA ROSA, and Group winners DEAUVILLE LEGEND and HANAMI.
We really liked this filly, said Kieran Lalor. She’s gorgeous, very athletic with a superb pedigree and from one of the best French studs. We’ve had a lot of success with Écurie des Monceaux over the years, and fingers crossed we’ll be back in a few years to speak about the Guineas and the Classics for this filly. With Baaeed as her sire and a maternal line of this calibre, anything is possible.
