Siyouni shines again with €105,000 colt to go breezing

Siyouni proved very much the leitmotiv of the day, providing three of the four six-figure transactions. The final colt in the ring by the Haras de Bonneval resident, consigned by Haras d'Etreham, was knocked down to Tom Whitehead's Powerstown Stud for €105,000. The pinhooker expressed his admiration for the sire and confirmed that the half-brother to dual Listed winner FOURIOSO would be prepared for next year's breeze up sales.

The result provided a fairy tale ending for breeder Xavier Moyer, who keeps four mares at his property near Livarot and partnered with Philippe Jousset's Haras Bonne Chance to secure the nomination to Siyouni.

Wertheimer maintains support to Anodin with €140,000 purchase

Pierre-Yves Bureau of Wertheimer & Frère had to fend off stiff opposition from Jean-Claude Rouget to secure an son of their homebred stallion Anodin for €140,000. Offered by Haras du Cadran and bred in partnership with Pascale Ménard, the colt is descended from the distant family of TREVE. A year ago at the same sale, Wertheimer et Frère had supported Anodin with the purchase of two colts, one of which, HARMLESS, is now unbeaten in three starts for Christophe Ferland including the L. Prix Roland de Chambure last time out.

Supporting our stallions has always been part of our policy, explained Bureau. We did it with Green Tune, Gold Away, Poliglote, Intello and have always been rewarded. It is also a way of thanking the breeders who have placed their faith in our stallions. This colt really stood out for us and time will tell if we were right!

€115,000 Siyouni filly sets ball rolling

The very first lot in the ring for the V.2 Yearling Sale fetched €115,000 on a bid from François Doumen, providing a pleasing return for breeders Karine Morice and Dominique Ades Hazan, who paid €60,000 eighteen months ago in the same ring for OPTICA in foal to Siyouni.

Consigned by Haras des Capucines, the filly hails from the family of Champion two-year-old filly GAY GALLANTA.

I have bought her for my loyal client Henri de Pracomtal, said Doumen. I have been to see her several times over the past few days. She is an energetic filly, a little bit on the small side but with the je ne sais quoi that make the good horses. She has a beautiful pedigree for a breeder.
