Bidding beside Haras de Maulepaire’s Pierric Rouxel, Sébastien Desmontils (Chauvigny Global Equine), had the final say for the half-sister to Prix Hopper (Gr.3) scorer JAZZ IN MONTREUX, herself a winner of the Prix François de Poncins (L.).
We really loved her, said Pierric Rouxel. We went a bit over the budget but she’s worth it. We’re very happy. It’s a family that I like a lot and have a lot of memories, notably with the Moussac and Puerari families when they bred at Maulpaire. The mare returns to her origins. It’s wonderful!
Cécile Adonias (Cava Associates) had the final say at €90,000 for BELLADAME, a sister to top class performer DJAKADAM and SAMBREMONT from Élevage Corveller. In foal to the young sire Beaumec de Houelle, the daughter of Saint des Saints hails from the talented family of SUN STORM, ROCHEFLAMME and RASANGO. After signing the docket, the agent said,
I’ve bought her for a new client. She has a lovely pedigree page. We haven’t got an exact plan at the moment, we’ll let her have her foal and then see.
Haras de Saint Maur offered a son of Zarak out of a half-sister to NO NEWS, notably the dam of Prix Sagan (Gr.3) winner MESSAGERE and this season's Prix Aguado (Gr.3) scorer PARADISIO. Paul Basquin had the final say at €52,000 for the colt from the leading maternal family line of NEWNESS the dam of NO RISK AT ALL, NICKNAME, NOM D’UNE PIPE and NOM DE D’LA.
The offspring of Zarak have already shown themselves, so I am very happy with this purchase, said Paul Basquin of Haras de Saubouas. “His dam is by Dalakhani, that is a good broodmare sire, and she is young from a great jumping family. It’s an interesting cross that could give rise to lots of opportunities in the future.
Also bred by Rémi Coudret, a son of Doctor Dino from Domaine de l'Étang was knocked down for €83,000. The blue-blooded grandson of the excellent N'AVOUE JAMAIS hails from the family of the very talented NO RISK AT ALL, PARADISO and MESSAGERE.

The eagerly awaited FABULOUS DRAGONESS was at the origin of a bidding war which eventually went the way of Thierry Délégue (Pégase Bloodstock) for €300,000. A half-sister to the champion BLUE DRAGON and herself a winner of the Prix Jacques de Vienne (Gr.1 AQ) in the colours of Magalen Bryant, she was offered carrying her first foal to Doctor Dino by Haras du Lieu des Champs. Thierry Delegue (Pegase Bloodstock) commented:
She’s a mare that has so many strings to her bow - she has an exceptional pedigree and was a very good performer herself, is young, and in-foal to one of the best stallions. I think to start breeding, which is my client Mr. van Robais’s case, it is hard to do better than this mare. Mr. van Robais is passionate about National Hunt racing and has had good success with his first purchases and now wishes to breed as well.”
Offered from Haras de Maulepaire, MARLONNE was subject to a lot of interest in the ring. A winner of the Prix Calabrais (L.), the daughter of Martaline, from the close family of LIBAUTE, was knocked down for €80,000 to Sébastien Desmontils (Chauvigny Global Equine). She was offered carrying her first foal to Telecaster.
She’s a lovely mare, said Sebastien Desmontils. I’ve bought her for a partnership between Ecurie Tygaly and Ecurie Drost, with whom we notably bought Hojacaracois Has last year and her yearling sold well yesterday.
Offered in foal for the first time to No Risk At All by Haras de Saint Voir, the Listed placed GRADEE was knocked down for €80,000. It was Haras de Beaufay’s Emmanuel Talvard that had the final say for the sister to Group winner TOUT ROUGE and Group placed D'ENTREE DE JEU, from the family of the talented QUEL ESPRIT.
I love this mare!, said Emmanuel Talvard. She’s lovely with a great live family that leaves us to hope that there will be some nice updates in the future. We’re very happy to have her and bring her back to the stud.

The Autumn Sale held a dispersal for the late Magalen Bryant, whose colours were victorious at the highest level over jumps and on the flat. Of the mares offered today from Haras du Lieu des Champs was Grand Prix de Pau (Gr.3) winner LATERANA. Rupert Pritchard Gordon (RPG Bloodstock) had the final say at €140,000 for the half-sister to dual Group winner LATERANO, offered carrying her first foal by Great Pretender.
After signing the docket, Rupert Pritchard Gordon commented:
We’ve bought her to send to Success Days. His first foals sold well last week, and one of his fillies was the top price and he’s a son of Jeremy. We really like the mare, she’s lovely and was very well prepped by Richard Powell and his team. We’re very happy to have got her!
Bred by Rémi Boucret and offered by Domaine de l'Etang, a son of the young sire Goliath du Berlais was knocked down for €54,000 to Edward Partridge (Valentine Bloodstock). The first foal out of FELINA BELLA, the winner of the Prix Glorieuse (Gr.2 AQ), the colt is from the close family of the talented ELFILE and VLADIMIR ex VLADIMIR HALL.
The market was very strong yesterday, and we were underbidder on several yearlings, said Edward Partridge. So we have bought a foal today! He is by Goliath du Berlais, a son of the very good sire Saint des Saints.
Consigned by Haras de la Paumardière for Écurie Pégase carrying her first foal to Great Pretender, SRHELIGA was knocked down for €82,000. It was Bertrand Le Metayer (BLM Bloodstock) that had the final say for the daughter of Martaline, a sister to multiple Group winner SRELIGHONN and Auteuil Listed hurdle scorer TRHELIGA.
She’ll join Haras de La Motteraye’s broodmare band. She’s their first National Hunt broodmare » said the agent. SRELIGHONN is a very good horse and I like her sister TRHELIGA a lot. I think it’s a very good family for breeding.
