LADY PANAME for a partnership of Ecurie Drost and Ecurie Tygaly

Bidding beside Pierric Rouxel, Sebastien Desmontils (Chauvigny Global Equine) had the final say at €120,000 for Long Island Stakes (Gr.3) scorer LADY PANAME.

Offered by La Motteraye Consignment, the Haras de Maulepaire manager said of the daughter of Soldier of Fortune:

We’ve bought her for a partnership between Ecurie Drost and Ecurie Tygaly. We’re delighted - she’s a mare that we have liked for a while. She’ll become a broodmare now and no doubt be covered by No Risk At All.

Listed winner OH BEAUTIFUL sold for €85,000

Offered in foal to Shalaa by Haras du Quesnay, Prix Vulcain (L.) winner OH BEAUTIFUL was knocked down for €85,000. Acting on behalf of Austrian enterprise Sage Stud, Chris Richner had the final say for the daughter of Galileo, that is a half-sister to black-type performers FREEDOM’S LIGHT and FACE THE FACTS from the top class family of HALFWAY TO HEAVEN, MAGICAL and RHODODENDRON.

I’ve bought her for Sage Stud in Austria, said the agent. They’ve been breeding for over 30 years, and have recently bought this stud and entirely renovated it. This is the third year that they have come to ARQANA to buy quality mares.

Wild Card LASKALIN for Guy Petit

The hammer fell at €77,000 for the Wild Card LASKALIN, a winner of the Prix Bernard de Dufau (L.) over fences at Pau at the beginning of the year for Mikael Mescam. It was Guy Petit that had the final say for the six-year-old gelding by Martaline,  also a half-brother to multiple Group and Listed winner LASKALINE. 

He’ll go to England and join Venetia Williams after a rest, said the agent. He isn’t a Novice, but he has the ideal profile for the big handicaps. We’re delighted!

€250,000 for a half-brother to GAILLARD DU MESNIL

A winner on his debut over hurdles and offered as a Wild Card, the Matthieu Palussiere trained HARDI DU MESNIL was knocked down for €250,000. After a protracted battle for the four-year-old AQPS by Masterstroke, it was David Powell (Highflyer Bloodstock) that had the final say for the half-brother to recent Irish Grade 1 winner GAILLARD DU MESNIL.

After signing the docket, David Powell said,

I've bought him for Robert Waley-Cohen. He’s a horse that merited to be fought over. He’ll now have a bit of a break as he needs to strengthen up a bit.
