For yearlings and two-year-olds
Once your horse is entered, a member of the ARQANA sales team will come and see it in order to assess its conformation and determine which sale or day of sale will be the most suitable to its profile.
In 2008, 2318 yearlings were inspected, among which 1334 were selected by ARQANA. 515 of them went through the August Sale, 532 through the October Sale and 287 through the December Sale.
When entering a horse
On the entry form, don’t forget to mention the place where the horse will be available for inspection.
Schedule of inspections
An appointment will be made with you at least a week before the inspection. Inspections follow a very tight schedule, with which we ask you to comply.
You will receive a letter detailing the documents that you need to supply before the sale.
Compulsory for all horses :
You will also receive a sales mandate, which you need to fill in and return to us. Please make sure you specify the names of the owner(s), shares of ownership (in case of a partnership), VAT regime and preferred payment method. We recommend that you enclose the particulars of the bank account in case of settlement by bank transfer.
Conditions of sale
Please pay particular attention to the following sections :
- Information, documents and guarantees to be supplied by vendors (sections 3, 5 and 6)
- Withdrawals (section 4)
- Miscellaneous obligations for vendors (section 7)
- Liability in respect of damages caused by or to the horse (section 8)
Vendor’s payment
ARQANA guarantees payment to the vendor, with half due 30 days after the end of the sale and the remainder 60 days after the sale.
