€102,000 for a half-sister to PAO ALTO

Among the final lots to go under the hammer today, MAJAL (lot 173), raised bidding to €102,000 when knocked down in favour of Eamon Reilly (BBA Ireland). Offered from Haras de Bouquetot, the daughter of Shalaa out of Group winner PEACEFUL LOVE is none other than a half-sister to PAO ALTO, the winner of the Prix de la Force (Gr.3). The blue-blooded filly hails from the family of PALMAS, victorious in the Preis der Diana (Gr.1), as well as Group winners PEACE ROYALE and PEACE IN MOTION. After signing the docket, Eamon Reilly said,

She’s a lovely filly, that moves nicely and has an exceptional pedigree page. Shell come back to Ireland and start her broodmare career."

LOT 118
SANTA FIX for a partnership between Haras du Saubouas and Haras d’Etreham

Offered from Haras du Lieu des Champs, SANTA FIX was knocked down for €92,000 in favour of Paul Basquin who signed the docket on behalf of a partnership between Haras du Saubouas and Haras d’Etreham. A winner over hurdles and fences, the daughter of Saint Des Saints is a half-sister to Group winner A MI MANERA and Listed scorer FIXE LE KAP. The well bred mare hails from the family of Grade 1 winners KOTKIJET, KOTKITA and KOTKIKOVA.

She’s a magnificent filly that moves really well. She’s from a lovely family and by Saint des Saints, an excellent broodmare sire. She’s been bought for a partnership between Haras de Saubouas and Haras d’Etreham. She’ll be covered by Paradiso, a stallion that we estimate and want to support by sending him quality mares.

Group winner AIR DE VALSE knocked down for €240,000

The first mixed sale of the season at the Elie de Brignac complex, the February Sale began on Tuesday with the first day reserved for horses-in-training on the flat and over jumps, stores, two-year-olds and the first half of the breeding section. Eagerly awaited in the ring, Prix du Petit Couvert (Gr.3) scorer AIR DE VALSE was knocked down for €240,000 to  Bridge Consignment. Group-placed on several occasions including when runner up in the Prix de L’abbaye de Longchamp (Gr.1), the Corine Barande-Barde-trained mare has a current rating of 101.

Accompanying the entourage, Jérôme Glandais, Manager of Haras du Logis Saint-Germain said, 

Shes been bought for Mr. Benaroussi, who continues his investment for breeding. For the moment we havent decided what stallion she will go to or where she will be boarded.
