Buyers were once again eagerly awaiting a son of Dubawi go under the hammer from Oak Tree Farm. Bidding on behalf of Godolphin, Anthony Stroud had the final say at €800,000 for the colt from the close family of the excellent PAIX, MAGIC WAND, CHICQUITA and PHILOMENE, that will now be trained by Charlie Appleby.

He’s outstanding, said the agent after signing the docket. Norman and Janet Williamson have done wonderful job with him. He’s a son of Dubawi and from a great family.

LOT 164
€500,000 for a daughter of KODIAC

Very active around the ring today, the agent Anthony Stroud struck once again, this time for a daughter of Kodiac out of a half-sister to dual Group winner CENTENNIAL. Consigned by Glending Stable, the filly hails from the family of Group 1 winners CROCO ROUGE, TAIPAN, ALI-ROYAL, SLEEPYTIME and IT’S SOMEWHAT.

LOT 145
Son of Siyouni knocked down for €1,2 million

Eagerly awaited in the ring, a son of Siyouni out of Listed scorer ISABEL DE URBINA was subjected to a long bidding war that saw Oliver St Lawrence come out on top with a final bid of €1,2 million. Consigned by Brendan Holland’s Grove Stud, the colt is out of the family of Group winners MANUELA DE VEGA, HERO LOOK, PONT AVEN, SAINTE MARINE, JOSR ALGARHOUD and INDIAN DAYS.

He’s a lovely colt, said Oliver St Lawrence. He has it all - he breezed well, is by a great stallion and has a great pedigree. He’s been bought for an owner from Bahrein, and will most likely be trained in England.

Son of Point Of Entry makes €320,000 to Jono Mills

Consigned by Bloodstock Connection, a son of Point Of Entry out of Group winner ICE FESTIVAL was knocked down for €320,000 in favour of Jono Mills. After signing the docket for the colt, he said, "He’s a lovely colt. He’s been very well prepped by his consignor and did a good breeze. We don’t know yet which trainer he’ll go to, but he’ll be trained in Dubai.”

LOT 116
€400,000 for a son of DUBAWI

Offered from Yeomanstown Stud, a son of Dubawi out of Listed winner and Group placed FADHAYYIL, was knocked down for €400,000 to Anthony Stroud on behalf of Godolphin. The well bred colt is a half-brother to Let’s Elope Stakes (Gr.2) scorer TURAATH, also runner-up in the Australia Stakes (Gr.2) this season.

LOT 103
€420,000 for a half-sister to DYLAN MOUTH

Bidding reached €420,000 for a daughter of Lope De Vega out of Group winner COTTONMOUTH. It was the agent Alex Elliott that had the final say for the half-sister to DYLAN MOUTH, a three-time Group 1 winner and multiple Group winner in Italy, consigned by Grove Stud.

She’ll be trained by Ralph Beckett, that has had a lot of success with horses by Lope de Vega, said the agent. She’s a lovely filly with a good pedigree and Brendan Holland has prepped her very well.

Daughter of Siyouni for Qatar Racing

Consigned by Longways Stables, a daughter of Siyouni from the top family of Group 1 winner MIDDAY was knocked down for €300,000. After signing the docket, David Redvers said, 

She’s terrific - Michael and Sarah Murphy have done great work with her. She did a quick breeze and has a temperament that I like a lot. She’s been bought for Sheikh Fahad (Qatar Racing) and will probably be trained in England.

Son of BLAME sold for €300,000 to BBA Ireland

A little later, Michael Donohoe (BBA Ireland) had the final say at €300,000 for a son of Blame. Consigned by Derryconnor Stud, he is the second foal out of a half-sister to triple Group winner POMEROYS PISTOL, the dam of Group scorer THOUSAND WORDS. 

He’s a colt with the right profile to go on the grass as well as on dirt, said Michael Donohoe. He’s been bought for an existing client.

€600,000 for a son of Uncle Mo

Bidding on behalf of Coolmore, the agent Jamie McCalmont went to €600,000 to secure a son of Uncle Mo out of multiple Group winner SUMMER APPLAUSE. Offered from Powerstsown Stud, the colt hails from the family of Group 1 winner BEYOND BRILLIANT and Group scorers RECOUP THE CASH and BROOKLYN STRONG.

Uncle Mo is probably one of the best American stallions around, said the agent. The breezed very well on Thursday and will go to the United States to be trained by Todd Pletcher.

Son of Waldgeist for Teme Valley

Offered from Écurie Prévost-Barratte, a colt from the first crop of Waldgeist was knocked down for €360,000. It was Richard Ryan, the Racing Manager for Teme Valley, that had the final say for the grandson of Preis der Diana (Gr.2) scorer and Group 1 placed QUE BELLE, that comes from the family of Group winners OSIDY, QUETSCHE, QUELLE AMORE, QUADUNA and QUANTANAMERA.

He’s a very balanced colt, said Richard Ryan. He’s the nicest by Waldgeist that I’ve seen and there’s a lot of Galileo in him. I’ve bought him for Teme Valley and he’ll be trained by Paddy Twomey in Ireland.

Daughter of Sioux Nation sold for €450,000

Just a lot later, a daughter of Sioux Nation was knocked down for €450,000. Oliver St Lawrence signed the docket for the half-sister to Listed winner and Group-placed MANHATTAN JUNGLE. Offered by Bloodstock Connection, the filly hails from the family of Group 1 scorers WAIKIKA and EMARAATY ANA.

She’s a magnificent filly with good size and an exceptional temperament, he said after signing the docket. She’s been bought by Fawzi Nass and will go to England first before we decide on a trainer.

Consigned by Grove Stud, a daughter of the young Darley stallion Blue Point out of the Stakes winner SHIMMERING MOMENT was knocked down for €500,000. The well bred filly hails from the family of dual Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint hero STORMY LIBERAL and Group 1 DOLPHIN STREET, INSIGHT, SAFFRON WALDEN, BEETHOVEN and SEQUOYAH. Bidding on behalf of Roy and Gretchen Jackson’s (Lael Stables), Nicolas Bertran De Balanda (NBB Racing) signed the docket for the filly. He commented: 

She’s a lovely filly - big and athletic. She did a good breeze and her sire has made a very good debut. She’ll go to the United States to be trained by Arnaud Delaour.

€420,000 for a full brother to Classic winner TXOPE

Following the breezes on the grass at Deauville-La Touques Racecourse on Thursday and a day of inspections on Friday, the Breeze Up Sale started this morning. Among the first lots to go under the hammer was a full brother to Classic winner TXOPE, that was knocked down for €420,000. It was Richard Brown (Blandford Bloodstock) that signed the docket for this son of Siyouni. Offered from Mocklershill, he is out of the black-type POWER OF THE MOON and from the family of dual Group scorer ZINZIBERINE.

He’s a magnificent colt, said Richard Brown. We are delighted, he was one of our pick of the sale. He did a gorgeous breeze and was very well prepared by his consignor. His sister TXOPE is a good one and he is by one of the best European stallions. For the moment we haven’t decided on a trainer, but he’ll go to England and we’ll give him a bit of a break before going on with him.
